What this screen is for
Why is the background reading. It exists because the check result is hard to care about until you know what it is protecting you from, and because most people first meet this subject after something has already gone wrong.
It answers three things: who actually sends mail as your domain, why they chose it, and what forgery is in the first place - which is that the address a reader sees and the domain that authenticated a message are two separate fields, and nothing but DMARC makes them agree.
The part most worth reading
The section titled One honest limit. It states plainly what this product does not stop: a lookalike domain, a spoofed display name, and a genuinely compromised mailbox. Those three are outside what any DMARC product can do, and knowing that before you buy anything is more useful than another feature list.
What to do next
- Run the free check on your own domain - the page is abstract until you have your own result.
- If a term on that page is unfamiliar, the glossary defines every one of them in a sentence.
What this screen does not do
It makes no claim about your domain specifically. Nothing on it is personalised, and reading it does not run a check.
